Explain Boko Haram attack on Borno, Adamawa after your claim of defeat – Fayose tells Lai

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has portrayed the Sunday and Monday's Boko Haram assaults in Borno and Adamawa States as demoralizing and a prosecution on the All Progressives Congress (APC) federal government, saying that the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed must disclose to Nigerians how the same Boko Haram that he said had been "actually vanquished" could complete such brave and fatal attacks.

The governor, who sympathized with the government and people of Borno and Adamawa States, particularly the individuals who lost their friends and family in the assaults, said; "in different countries of the world, the government would have assumed liability for deluding and misleading the people and apologised."

In a discharge issued by his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, Governor Fayose asked; "If Boko Haram had without a doubt been in fact crushed as Lai Mohammed made Nigerians to accept, what do we call the Sunday and Monday assaults in Maiduguri, Borno State capital and Madagali, Adamawa State?

"Should we say that the "in fact" crushed Boko Haram extremists assaulted Borno and Adamawa States, executing near 100 Nigerians and harming several others?

"Only Lai Mohammed who told Nigerians that Boko Haram had been in fact crushed can let us know what happened and he should need to clarify how 'in fact vanquished' extremists could complete such destructive attacks."

Governor Fayose, who asked the APC-led federal government to quit deluding Nigerians, particularly on the Boko Haram uprising and its anti-corruption fight said; "This administration by double dealing must stop. Nigerians should know reality concerning how they are being governed."

He tested the federal government to tell Nigerians what amount had been spent on security matters since June, this year, saying; "As it is today, they are simply utilizing the anti-corruption fight to shift the consideration of Nigerians from their inability to satisfy the promises they made while looking for votes. They are misdirecting Nigerians while redirecting Security Vote under the affectation of fighting Boko Haram insurgency.

"It has therefore ended up germane that they are advised explicitly to quit acting as though they are still the opposition. They ought to realize that election is over and it is as of now seven months that they expected office."
