Prince Uche Secondus, the acting National Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has exhorted Nigerians to stay centered and not be despaired in 2016.

The chairman, who decided in his New Year message on Thursday in Abuja, prompted that Nigerians must not lose trust "as we strikingly walk into 2016.

"We must rest our confidence in God, the one and only that can direct the leadership of this country to take activities that will enuinely amend past mistakes.

"The special case who can manage the country's leadership to take activities that will revamp our economy, give all Nigerians a feeling of belonging and secure our country.

"Our supplication to God is that in 2016, Nigerians will live in peace, love and brotherhood.

"They will be alive to their citizenship obligation of connecting with the government so it can work for national compromise, recreation and development.''

Secondus then pleaded with the PDP to be at the vanguard of these points and the goal of moving the country forward.

"We are as of now reforming our party with a specific end goal to place us in great stead to assume this part effectively.

"May the Almighty God gift us a quiet and prosperous New Year,'' he prayed.

He portrayed the anti-corruption approach of the present administration as "dynamic strategy'', including that PDP was in backing of it.

He said "the PDP underpins this approach wholeheartedly in light of the fact that it is principal to our drive toward national improvement as a country.

"But it will be counter-productive if it is sought after without taking after the rule of law and if it is specifically targeting members of the opposition party.'' (NAN)
