NSCDC arrests illegal petrol dealers in Jigawa



JIGAWA State Command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) said it has arrested illicit merchants in petroleum products, famously called dark advertisers, as a component of moves to check fuel scarcity in the state.

The State Commandant, Dr. Gidado Fari, who unveiled this to newsmen yesterday, said his charge had before issued a notice to the culprits of the unlawful business before attacking the surroundings of the NNPC super station arranged at Kiyawa Road opposite FRSC office taking into account insight report, including that the suspects after locating the officers took to their heels abandoning 47 jerry jars filled with petrol.

According to him, the jerry jars were seized and taken to the NSCDC office as shows, including that those included are attacking the efforts of the government to make fuel available.

Meanwhile, the state Command of the NSCDC has likewise seen with disappointment the sudden increment in the pump price of petroleum products over the 27 local chambers in the state, including that henceforth, any filling station offering above N87 would be shut down.

Fari said such practice is deceptive and must be stopped.
