Police parades suspected criminals in River, recovers over 150 fire arms



The Rivers State Police Command has paraded over one hundred suspected criminals, who were recently arrested in various parts of the state.

The State Police Command also presented over one hundred and fifty firearms and ten vehicles recovered from the criminal suspects.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Ahmad Muhammad, who briefed newsmen in the development, said the Police had continued to make gains in efforts to check activities of criminals in the state.

Some of the criminal suspects, who spoke with newsmen during the parade, made confessions on the crime they allegedly committed.

In the meantime, the Rivers State Police Command has assured that it will not relent in its efforts to end the menace of crime in the state.

This is also as it has arraigned four suspects before the Port Harcourt Magistrate Court over alleged possession of firearms and involvement in cult activities.

The accused persons identified as Princewell Kumbo, Abiye Soboyi, Junior Isokari and Jepreye Lawson were arrested in the heat of the violence that marred the re-run legislative elections on 19th of March, around Buguma in Asari Toru Local Government Area.

After listening to the reading of charges against the accused persons, Chief Magistrate I.O Agbesor directed that the case file should be sent to the Department of Public Prosecution for advice.

The case was adjourned to 18th of July for mention.
