A graphic video showing two white police officers pinning down Alton Sterling before shooting him several times has sparked outrage.

The incident which occurred at Baton Rogue on Tuesday has once again put race relations and police brutality on the front burner.

37 year old Alton Sterling was selling CD’s just outside a convenience store when policemen responded to a disturbance call.

He was subsequently pinned down and was struggling with the officers when one of them pulled a gun and five shots could be heard.

The video was shot with a smartphone and police say they’re investigating the incident.

The hash tag #AltonSterling is now trending on Twitter.
